>Where have we been?

>Consider this your fair warning that this update will be all over the place. Life in the Wicklace house has been a little crazy as of late. Here is a little glimpse into what we have been up to.

For those of you that don’t know, Lauren’s dad, Larry passed away last week. He had been fighting stomach cancer for a little over a year. He was a good man, and will be missed.

This 4th of July marked one year since our return to Minnesota. Last year on the 4th we were somewhere in Kansas with a huge moving truck making our way north. This year we are home and hit the 4th of July parade with friends and family. We had a good time sitting with Kris, her husband, and youngest daughter. Kris is Larry’s niece and used to babysit me when I was a little kid.

That’s Meagan in the tie dye shirt. If you look close, I am standing behind her. Kris and her husband are sitting in the chairs. On the curb is Lauren’s friend Jordan, Lauren, Annie and Katie.

Katie was such a good helper with Annie. She took Annie to see the school mascot. Annie thought this was a good idea until the tiger tried to touch her. What you see is Annie protesting quite loudly, “No!”

My Mom was in MN for a few days short of a month. It was so nice to have her here with us. She was a great help with Annie and I really enjoyed sitting around and talking with her. I was sad to see her go home yesterday. Lauren came to MN shortly after Mom and we were all able to hang out with family, friends we hadn’t seen in many years and spend a lot of time together. Here is a small look into a few of our days.

Annie (with my help) convinced Lauren, Meagan and Jordan to put the tunnels together for her. Lauren was the only one willing to get in and climb through with Annie.

Last weekend Joe, Meagan, Annie and I were with Joe’s family celebrating his cousin Amanda’s high school graduation. We don’t get to see them as often as we like. We had a good time catching up with everyone and are so proud of Amanda and wish her great success at college.

Meagan is spending this week with Mike and Angie at their house and volunteering at the MN zoo. She has one more week in August scheduled and then it will be almost time to head back to school. This summer is flying right by.

Joe is doing well. His shoulder is slowly feeling better. He is back at work, but continues with PT twice a week.

So, that is the down and dirty update from us. Hopefully I will be able to get back to regular updates from here on out.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!
