Baby you’re a firework!

So the Fourth of July started off with sitting and scorching in the sun while watching Meagan. Thankfully Meagan’s group was in the first half of the parade. As soon as she passed us, we grabbed our things and headed for home. Despite being covered in sunblock we were all starting to feel sunburned.

We came home, grilled some chicken for a fabulous lemon basil pasta that I made for dinner tonight. We ate, cleaned up and it wasn’t long before Annie was asking Joe to take her fishing. Joe, Meagan and Annie went and at the same time scouted our spot for the fireworks. I stayed home and enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Later I headed over to where Joe and the girls were and this is what I found

The picture doesn’t even do this mess justice. If you know me at all, you know that I am particular about Annie’s clothes. Her shirt was white when she left the house, but now a nice shade of totally gross. Her legs are covered in a layer of grime, her hair a sweaty sticky mess. You can actually see stripes of “clean” running down her leg where she spilled something on herself. YUCK!

Knowing we had more than an hour until the fireworks started I loaded her into the car and drove her home to clean her up. A quick rinse in the bath and a change of clothes and we were good to go.

One glow stick shoved up the nose for Fourth of July luck!

Aaaahh!

And just like that, it was over. I hope you all had a great Fourth of July.
