The first day.

It’s back to business as usual around here. The come and go, no schedules of summer have been replaced with school, work, schedules and routines. The weather is turning cooler, and we’re finishing up the final details of Annie’s birthday party that is taking place next weekend. She’s been waiting and talking about this party for a long time and is SO excited. I can’t wait to share the pictures with all of you, I think it’s going to turn out really cute.

This week marked Annie’s return to preschool. She goes twice a week for 2 hours and is in the same class with the same teachers as last year. Having a September birthday means that Annie won’t start kindergarten until she is 6, this also means that she does 2 years in this preschool program before moving up to the full time program next year. She absolutely loves school. Most of the kids in her class are new this year, but she was very happy to see a familiar face upon arrival on Tuesday morning. I was trying to get a picture next to her locker but all of that was put aside for “Look Mom! There’s HUNTER!”

And that was the end of the before school photos. These two buddies took off into the classroom with hardly a glance back towards me or Hunter’s Dad. They could barely be bothered to lift their heads in our direction for a moment to say goodbye.

Here’s hoping that the rest of the year goes as well as the first week.
