Recovery

On Tuesday morning Annie and I headed out early in the morning to the hospital to have her tonsils and adenoids removed. She was such a brave girl and did really well with the surgery itself. Recovery so far has been slow and painful but she’s doing great. She had a bad reaction to the anesthesia which made her first hours at home pretty rough.

She has spent the past two days at home camped out on the couch sleeping often and trying to stay on top of her pain. She is sad that she is missing school this week but hopeful that she will feel well enough to go back next Tuesday.

The hope is that this surgery will cure her sleep apnea and help her with her breathing. After her surgery her doctor came to speak with me and the first words out of his mouth were, “Those were some huge tonsils.” While these few days of recovery are rough, I really believe that in the long run this is going to be beneficial for Annie.
